BG Theodore G. Shuey, Jr.

Born July 4, 1947

Brigadier General Theodore G.Shuey, Jr. was born in Roanoke, Virginia. He is married to the former Elizabeth Kennon.  They have two children, Ellen and Tad.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bridgewater College graduating in 1969. He earned a Masters in Education from the University of Virginia in 1973.

BG Shuey was commissioned in the state OCS program in 1972.  His previous assignments in the Virginia National Guard include: Post Mobilization Office, HQ STARC, VaARNG, XO, 1st Brigade, 28th Infantry Division (L), Commander, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry, XO, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry, S-3, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry, Commander, CSC, 2nd Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade (SEP), Senior TAC Officer, Virginia OCS Program, Aide-De-Camp to the Assistant Division Commander, 28th Infantry Division.  BG Shuey is currently the Assistant Division Commander-Maneuver for the 29th Infantry Division (Light).

His awards include: 4 Meritorious Service Medals, 8 Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Virginia National Guard Legion of Merit, 2 Virginia National Guard Bronze Star Medals, Virginia National Guard Commendation Medal, Virginia National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon.
