Authored LOST IN THE FOREST OF TIGERS THE UNITED STATESÂ’ SEARCH FOR A COORDINATED PLAN OF ACTION IN VIETNAM, 1959-1961.

A decorated World War II veteran, "Jack" Castles served as Adjutant General under Governors Allen, Wilder and Robb. Under his command, the Commonwealth's Army and Air National Guard units were ranked the nation's best, and the 29th Division was reactivated as a light infantry division, the first of its kind in the nation.
